Steve Hakim is a fifth-year graduate student working with Dr. Kristina McDonald. He received his BS in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he spent 2 years studying adolescent psychopathology with Dr. Sylvie Mrug. More recently, he has worked in various research labs at Cal State University, Northridge, where he studied applied behavior analysis. His research interests include the development of maladaptive coping strategies, trauma exposure and substance use in adolescent populations
John Meyer is a first-year graduate student working with Dr. Kristina McDonald and Dr. Jeffrey Parker. He received his BA in Psychology from the University at Buffalo, SUNY, where he worked with Dr. Julie Bowker on a number of peer relations related projects. His current research interests focus on friendship triads and how they may differ from the traditional dyadic friendship, as well as snark (a form of aggressive sarcasm) and how that might manifest itself in adolescent friendships.
Korina Odom is a third-year graduate student working with Dr. Kristina McDonald in the RAD Lab. Korina received her B.S in Psychology from Tarleton State University and recently received her M.A in Psychology from the University of Alabama. Her research interests include the relationship between individuals and their developmental contexts that foster positive development (e.g., individual strengths and competence, interpersonal relationships, and well-being) in adolescent populations. Outside of research, she enjoys gardening, playing video games, watching anime and other series, and spending time with her pets.
